Hello!!!!

After a long absence, I'm back (for now at least!). Since my last blog, a lot has happened. I went to Memphis for Shofela's graduation. I can tell you, there were definitely more than a few tears shed!
We sadly lost Peter's Mum, after a traumatic illness, on June 25th, just two days before her 83rd birthday.Then the day after the funeral, I flew to London to attend a course on the International Primary Curriculum at the University of Greenwich, London...it was great.


Then I spent the next few days visiting family and friends and generally having a great time!



Now I have just one week left and it's back to the grindstone....unbelievable! Why am I not getting ready to be whisked off to my yacht in the South of France?????? Oh well, maybe one day!

Exercise!!!!!

I recently decided that the time had come for me to start exercising, before I turned into a blob, so on the first day of my Easter holidays I decided to take the bull by the horns.

Hmmmmmm, I thought.....skipping!! I can skip!! I used to skip running, on the spot, every way possible, when I was a kid...I can do it! Ha! I was in for the biggest shock of my life! To my greatest surprise, my body has apparently forgotten that it ever knew how to skip. Not possible do I hear you say??? Believe me, it IS possible.

And so I spent my first exercise day re-learning how to skip - and I ache in every place possible just to prove it :/

Long time no see!!!!

Well, I definitely don't seem to be keeping to my new year's resolution as far as my blog is concerned......it's been at least two weeks. If I think hard enough, I'm sure I'll find something to blame it on!

School has been hard & I really can't wait for the mid-term holiday, but best of all, Shobo'll be back in less than a week. The house is in complete turmoil with builder's in & out all the time (WHY do they make such a mess???), but thank goodness, it'll all soon be done. Peter & I can't wait. How I wish that both Funlola & Shofela could be here for the summer holidays.

Anyhow, as always stuff has been happening at Greensprings. Friday was Pre School Activities Day & the little darlings had a great time, as you can see.

Crash!!!

AGGGHHHHH!!!

Yes, well, after waxing lyrical over the Obama inauguration, I've come back down to earth with a loud CRASH!!!

The reality of my existence has caught up with me & I suddenly REALLY feel like a bee without wings....and this one can't seem to fly without them :(

A New Day

It's amazing isn't it that one man can create such an outpouring of emotions: hope, joy, tears, belief in the future, when many had stopped believing. I am humbled to have been a witness to history in the making. Had I the means to be there, I would have been - the feelings generated by the unprecedented crowds were palpable. Thank God for technology at least giving us the opportunity to witness it.

Finished!

I've finally finished the presentation for my workshop on assessment!! Pheeewww!!! Great relief! Every time I have something like this to do, I start of with lofty intentions to get right to it so its over and done with, but of course I never do. Its always left right to the last minute and then inevitably it's rush, rush, rush and occassionaly, even sleepless nights. Maybe I should make a New Year's resolution.......hey, why's everyone cracking up????

New Year Resolutions

At the beginning of the year, I made a couple of resolutions, telling myself that this time it would be different. One of them was to control my addiction to chocolate & sweets :( and the other was that I'd update my blog regularly. Well, I'm happy to say that I've succeeded in one at least (so far); I've been really good and I've stopped the sweets (well almost....sigh), but as for my blog, it remains for the most part, unattended.

I really think we should consider adding another hour on to each day, maybe then I'll have enough time to get things done...what do you think? :D

A new year!

Another year and another birthday, another year older......how time flies! The holidays have been strangely quiet this year with none of my kids around :(

Here's hoping that this year is good to us all, better than the last one. We have high hopes for a lot of things...great improvements in all areas of our lives.

It's amazing, earlier, when I thought about updating my blog, I had so much to say, but now that I'm actually doing it, my mind is totally blank....how stupid is that?

Oh well, I'm going to make the best of my final weekend of freedom, before work again on Monday. The good thing is that once the second term starts, the school year is almost over. Let's hope so!
